Tata Motors India will introduce an electrified version of the Altroz Hatchback in the Indian market, following the introduction of an electric SUV and a sedan. The hatchback will round up Tata Motors’ EV line.
The automobile was formally unveiled by Tata Motors at the 2020 Auto Expo. It will be equipped with a 15.9 kWh battery pack that powers a 55 PS electric motor unit with a peak torque of 120 Nm. Fast charging capabilities would also be added to the battery module.
Tata Tiago EV
The electric motor has a power rating of 55 horsepower and a max torque of 120 Nm. The battery module would be charged quickly. Tata Motors plans to make the Tata Tiago EV more inexpensive so that it can appeal to a wider audience. The Tata Tiago EV’s powertrain would be identical to the Tigor EV’s. However, the Tigor EV has a driving range of 306 kilometres, which may rise in the Tiago due to the car’s lighter weight.
Updated Tata Nexon EV
With its best-selling car, the Nexon EV, Tata is leading the EV segment. The business plans to replace its car with a more powerful electric powertrain next year. While specifics have yet to be revealed, the new Tata Nexon is expected to have a maximum power output of 135 PS, which would put it on par with the Hyundai Kona EV’s 137 PS. The Nexon EV currently has a maximum power output of 129 PS.
TATA Mid-Size SUV
TATA motors currently do not have a product that can help bridge the price gap between the Nexon’s entry-level variant and the Harrier’s entry-level variant. To compete with the likes of the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, Tata Motors has been working on an all-new mid-size SUV, which is expected to be completed by the end of next year and unveiled in 2023.
Tata Lifestyle Off-Road
Tata Motors currently does not provide any vehicles with an AWD or 4×4 drivetrain. The Thar’s popularity has grown, as has news of the coming of a brand new JImny. TATA Motors may introduce a lifestyle off-roading vehicle based on the Tata Sierra concept’s design language.
Tata Motors’ vehicle range is an intriguing combination, but whether models like the TATA Punch, TATA Safari, or the future TATA HBX, TATA Sierra will have an electric engine remains to be seen. In terms of the prices of these electric vehicles, one can anticipate them to be competitive, giving the corporation a competitive advantage. Better driving range and charging infrastructure would both improve customer experiences and boost consumer confidence and sentiment.
